Breakthrough to a New You!
There
are a million sermons on “God’s Plan and Purpose” and I talk about it
quite a bit as well. Just when we think we couldn’t possibly add
anything new on the subject, something happens to reaffirm that we
haven’t even scratched the surface. Most of us think we have a pretty
good understanding of what God intends for our lives, and I’m not
referring to the run of the mill nice job, nice car, and nice family.
I’m talking about the very specific and deliberate purpose that causes a
cataclysmic eclipse of all our experiences, one that solidifies a
synchronized life of continuously sowing and harvesting fruit.
Take a moment to ask yourself some very
important questions: Right now, at this very moment are you where you
thought you’d be in life? Are you genuinely happy or do you spend most
of your time pursuing happiness, never quite reaching the mark? Does
your life have real purpose? Are you enjoying just being you, or are
you living your life to please others? Do you really understand the
meaning of life and why you’re here? The answers to these questions will
either lead you on the greatest journey imaginable or they will cause
you to immediately close the door on the possibility that there is a way
to change your circumstances—a way to insure that you’re ever growing
and abounding in what really matters in life, spiritual blessings.
Take a look at 3 John 1:2 KJV:
“Beloved, I wish above all things
that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.”
God’s desire for mankind is
undeniable. He wants us all to have a glorious life. Why then is it
not a reality for so many of us? Most often it is because we want the
gifts without acknowledging the giver, and we’ve failed to use the Word
of God as a practical guide for success. Instead we live our lives on
our own terms; only truly seeking God when our plan doesn’t work out.
Keeping our connection with God in tact must be our first priority.
Why? Well it’s not because God has a huge ego. It’s because our
connection to Him nurtures us. It gives us the essential vitamins for a
magnificent life. Think about it—it’s pretty absurd to think that a 70
or 80 year life span wraps up our entire existence. No! God wants us
around a very, very, very long time, and He has brilliantly cultivated a
plan to make sure that happens. His plan is the best, and it works.
God wants us to grow to become fully
mature spiritual beings, fit to live an eternity in His kingdom. He
wants to guide us through the turns and twists of life so that every
experience has the potential to lift us higher and higher. He didn’t
create robots. We have the freedom to choose whether or not to love
Him. If we choose to love Him, then we must also trust that His way of
doing things is the best way to achieving the kind of life we desire. If
you invent something you’ll probably know exactly what to do to keep
your invention running smoothly. Well God created us, and He knows
exactly what we must do to stay in a place of love and light, and that’s
what His plan is all about.
3 John 1:3 tells us that God wishes
above all things that we prosper and are in good health. The problem is
never God’s inability or unwillingness to bless us. He made a more than
abundant life available for every born again believer, and it isn’t His
fault if we don’t have one. The issues that cause our constant lack and
stagnation can always be found within us. We allow our wants and desires
to consume our energies while we neglect our obligation to the faith.
It’s common these days to say that we are waiting on a breakthrough of
epic proportions, meanwhile others are tapping into the reservoir of
blessings that come from knowing who they are, why they are here, and
what they can become through Christ. God has already given us every
thing we need; it’s up to us to manifest it and use it to love and live
bigger. It’s only when we have a mustard seed of understanding of what
it truly means to have God’s love at work within that we will begin to
see His plan unfold.
John 16:13 KJV
13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of
truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak
of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he
will shew you things to come.
The “Spirit of truth” of which
John 16:13 speaks is the Holy Spirit. Of course there’s no greater truth
than God’s Word, but does this verse refer to God leading us to the
bible on the top shelf or does it refer to the truth that is revealed
when we know with crystal clarity who we are in the spirit. God wants us
to know how we fit into His awesome plan for the universe. He intends
us to be dynamic spiritual divas, able to leap over the greatest
adversities with a single bound, armed with the breastplate of purpose,
shielded by the cloak of destiny.
The Christ in us ensures that we have
an enormous capacity to love, but it is up to us to define how we will
use that love. Everything we do well, with positive intent, builds the
kingdom in some way. It isn’t God’s will that we run ourselves in the
ground chasing fantasies and dreams that are completely contrary to our
spiritual identity. Opportunities to do good abound right where you are,
you just have to open your heart to them, with full assurance that as
you commit to them God will surely give you the desires of your heart.
What are you doing with your life, and
does “what you’re doing” make the greatest statement about who
you are? This is the critical question you must ask before any deed.
Life is your only shot. We must understand that what we do every second
of the day on this earth will determine our identity for all eternity.
You can’t stand before the throne and declare your love for Christ and
have nothing to show for it. God is calling upon you to make your life
a living testimony. We don’t get a second chance to show our love to
our fellow sisters and brothers. We don’t get another chance to make
the most of every moment we’re alive. The breakthrough you’re waiting
on must occur in your own willingness and readiness to embrace the
fullness of what He’s already given you.
The reason many of us are trapped in
circumstances of pain and deprivation is because way down deep in the
kernels of our souls we’re saved, but still lost in that false
identity. We can’t stay trapped in fictitious elusions and then expect
to prosper. We can’t waste precious time and resources by becoming
dismayed, desponded, and depressed by our situational conditions. We
have to begin to see our present predicament as a motivator to continue
the search for who God wants us to be. That isn’t an arduous task. It’s
a glorious one! You’re born again! Nothing’s better than that. The only
reason that you’re not where you think you should be in your finances,
love life, or spirituality is because you haven’t done the work of
soul—you haven’t dug deep enough to discover the treasure of purpose and
destiny that God has placed in your inner being.
His desire is that we all have a
glorious life. Everyday we must incline our ear to the Holy Spirit
within; because every day God whispers messages to our spirits…the very
messages that will help us to unlock the treasures to a wondrous
existence; one of fulfillment, purpose, and love. Every single day,
irregardless of our problems, we have to get up with a renewed vigor,
zeal, and perseverance to seek those things, for Luke 11:9 KJV tells us
“And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye
shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.” We must
relentlessly search every nook and cranny of our personal experiences to
discover the clues of our spiritual identity, and then muster the
courage to change the things that make false statements about who we
really are through Christ
What we desire in life isn’t a result
of a breakthrough that occurs outside of ourselves, but it is dependent
upon an internal realization that set us on a journey. It’s a journey
that’s beyond anything we’ve ever known, and it leads us to that
glorious place where we can say “for this and this alone was I
born!” You see, our individual purpose isn’t some abstract concept
in the universe. It’s our acceptance that we have a distinct
responsibility and privilege to move God’s agenda forward; it’s
realizing that we have a pivotal part to play in His plan for the entire
universe, and our lives will not manifest fruit until we accept that and
act on it. |
